On a mild winter Monday morning, the fog was clearing along the Lake Ontario shoreline. As the fog cleared, the CORUS sign located at the front of the CORUS Entertainment Studios in Toronto became visible. It was here today that CORUS Entertainment was hosting the 2020 Career Day Event for the Ontario Association of Broadcasters. This annual event is attended widely by broadcasting industry professionals and college students currently enrolled in their final year of a broadcasting related program within the province of Ontario.

The Career Day was a fascinating network opportunity. It allowed students to attend panel discussions with industry experts in their chosen specialization within a broadcasting field. There were also round tables featuring discussions on the specialized areas of Creative Writing, Radio Production, Sports Production, Station Management and Live On-Air Production.
The day ended with tours of the CORUS Entertainment Studios. This was a great experience to visualize the technology and sense the amazement of the live broadcasting studios. I especially enjoyed the experience of having my photos taken on the set of the television studios and the Global News 640 AM Studio.
